Steelers | PIT still listening on Martavis Bryant   Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant has quietly remained in trade discussions over the last couple of months. However, most of the teams needing receivers are rivals to the team. Footballguys View: It feels like the world's longest and most awkward divorce as we were talking about this last year too. Bryant has the ability to be an impact player but too many other issues it seems to remain with Pittsburgh.  04/26 11:58
Cowboys | Earl Thomas still has Cowboys' pursuit   Seattle Seahawks FS Earl Thomas is still receiving interest from the Dallas Cowboys, according to industry sources. Trade talks have centered around the Cowboys' second-round pick (No. 50 overall), but no deal will be done unless the Cowboys believe they can re-sign him. Footballguys View: It could be a nice acquisition for Dallas though the second round pick is a little high given the depth at several positions the Cowboys need to address in this draft. Thomas obviously has plenty in the tank and Dallas needs help in the secondary though. Short term pain for short term gain?  04/26 11:58
Panthers | Greg Olsen signing extension   Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen will sign a two-year extension Thursday, April 26, worth $8.55 million per season with a maximum value of up to $10.05 million per year. He could become the highest-paid tight end in the league. Footballguys View: As one of the few remaining weapons standing near Cam Newton, this was important for Carolina to get locked down. Olsen is a good tight end who can produce nice fantasy numbers each year and yet often flies under the radar.  04/26 10:10
Giants | Paul Perkins had surgery   Updating previous reports, New York Giants RB Paul Perkins (pectoral) had surgery on a torn pectoral muscle. The extent of his injury and timetable are unknown. Footballguys View: The Giants aren't going to lean on Perkins anyway with Jonathan Stewart signed, plus a new running back from sometime during the NFL Draft. Ge's goign to have to fight for a roster spot.  04/26 09:58
Buccaneers | Charles Sims re-ups with Bucs   Free-agent RB Charles Sims (Buccaneers) agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday, April 26. Financial terms weren't disclosed. Footballguys View: Sims is a decent part of an RBBC, with some upside, but we think he'll be battling with a rookie this summer for reps.  04/26 08:56
Browns | Baker Mayfield pick gaining steam   Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield is the player head coaches and general managers around the league believe will be taken by the Cleveland Browns at No. 1 in the NFL draft. Footballguys View: Monday it was Sam Darnold. Tuesday was Josh Allen. Wednesday was Darnold again. Now Mayfield. At this point would anybody be shocked by Mason Rudolph on Day 2? Kidding aside, Mayfield is a good pick here for the Browns. He is mobile in a way similar to Tyrod Taylor so you can start installing the offense now and not miss a beat when you make a change. He's fiery, which will excite the fanbase and he is highly accurate.  04/26 07:40
NFL | Maurice Hurst's stock falling?   Michigan DL Maurice Hurst is believed to be falling 'out of the first round due to medical concerns,' according to two separate sources, and could drop as far as the third round. Footballguys View: Hurst is the best interior defensive line pass rusher in this draft, but his heart issue is giving teams pause. Of recent players with similar questions, Star Lotulelei has lived up to billing and Nick Fairley's career is in danger.  04/25 18:45
49ers | 49ers targeting Tremaine Edmunds   The San Francisco 49ers 'covet' Virginia Tech LB Tremaine Edmunds and will be targeting him with their first-round pick, No. 9 overall, at the NFL Draft on Thursday, April 26, according to Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com. Footballguys View: Edmunds has a rare constellation of physical gifts and his play improved as the year went on. The 49ers should go defense whether Edmunds is there or not.  04/25 18:19
Browns | Denzel Ward of interest to Browns   Ohio State CB Denzel Ward could be a target of the Cleveland Browns if the Browns were to trade down from their No. 4 overall pick. Footballguys View: Ward would address their biggest hole on defense even though most don't have him worth the #4 overall pick over Bradley Chubb or Saquon Barkley. If the Browns trade down to the 12th pick currently held by Buffalo, Ward might not be there.  04/25 15:46
Falcons | Atlanta officially picks up Vic Beasley's option   Atlanta Falcons DE Vic Beasley's fifth-year option was officially picked up Wednesday, April 25. Footballguys View:  04/25 15:10
NFL | Billy Price will be ready for camp   Ohio State OL Billy Price (pectoral) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in July with no restrictions, according to Price's doctor. Price suffered a partially torn pectoral at the NFL Combine. Footballguys View: Price was in the mix to be the first center off of the board before the injury, but he should figure into the top three centers in any event and could still be the first chosen and a first rounder. Arkansas's Frank Ragnow and Iowa's James Daniels are the other top players in the pivot.  04/25 14:34
Ravens | Dez Bryant declined Ravens   Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) turned down a multi-year deal from the Baltimore Ravens, according to former ESPN reporter Ed Werder. Bryant is seeking a one-year deal and an opportunity to earn a bigger contract as a free agent next year. Footballguys View: Bryant is betting on himself, which makes sense considering his personality, but could cost him money this year and down the line if his skills and physical talent are eroding. The Ravens went after Willie Snead as a restricted free agent instead, likely foreclosing any possibility that they sign Bryant. He will have a limited market for his services after the draft.  04/25 14:00
NFL | C.J. Anderson has interest   Free-agent RB C.J. Anderson (Broncos) has drawn interest from eight teams, according to 9news.com's Mike Klis. There is no timeline on a potential signing, however. Footballguys View: Anderson won't get signed before the draft, and this deep and talented class will surely remove some of those eight teams from the list. He'll be a committee back this year and his value on the decline after being released.  04/25 13:09
NFL | Antonio Callaway admits mistake   Florida WR Antonio Callaway said he takes full responsibility for smoking weeks before the NFL Combine. Callaway failed his drug test due to a diluted sample. Footballguys View: Callaway might not get drafted after this latest issue, but he will definitely get into a camp and has a ceiling among the top in this class. He'll still be worth interest in rookie drafts if he goes undrafted, but will come with more risk than other prospects.  04/25 12:36
Patriots | Lamar Jackson met with Pats twice   Louisville QB Lamar Jackson has had two pre-draft meetings with the New England Patriots, including a private workout in South Florida. It had already been reported that the Patriots are 'intrigued and impressed' with Jackson. Footballguys View: Jackson's destination is the most mysterious of the top five quarterbacks in the draft. New Orleans has also been linked to him, and he would make sense for Arizona. His playmaking ability as a runner and underrated game as a passer means that a surprise team could also choose to take him, seeing the rare opportunity to get a potential franchise quarterback outside of the top five picks.  04/25 12:16
Dolphins | Alex McGough dines with Dolphins   Florida International QB Alex McGough dined with the Miami Dolphins Tuesday, April 24. He's a rising name in draft circles.  04/25 11:26
Colts | Andrew Luck not throwing   Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) is participating in every part of minicamp except throwing, according to head coach Frank Reich. Footballguys View: There has been some signs of optimism coming from the Colts regarding Luck, but we won't pencil him to be something resembling his old self in 2018 until he can throw.  04/25 10:46
Browns | CLE cooling on Sam Darnold   USC QB Sam Darnold is receiving diminished interest from the Cleveland Browns, according to sources. Footballguys View: If this is indeed true, the Giants might change their plans to take Penn State RB Saquon Barkley at #2. That could set in motion a chain of events that would result in Barkley landing with Cleveland, Denver, Indianapolis or Tampa Bay, and increased pressure for Buffalo or Arizona to trade up into the top 6 to get the fourth of the top four quarterbacks after the Jets take the third at #3.  04/25 10:22
Browns | Josh Allen or Baker Mayfield going first?   Wyoming QB Josh Allen and Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield are the two players the Cleveland Browns are considering at No. 1 overall in the NFL draft, according to sources. Footballguys View: USC's Sam Darnold was previously considered the favorite or at least one of the two players in consideration to be the #1 pick. He is still a possibility despite this report. GM John Dorsey has done an excellent job concealing the team's plans at #1 from the public.  04/25 09:34
NFL | Dez Bryant to sign after draft   Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) is likely to sign after the NFL draft. Footballguys View: It doesn't make sense for a team to sign Bryant before the draft when they might be targeting receivers, so this is logical. Bryant will find a lot softer market for his services now than he would have if the Cowboys had released him before free agency.  04/25 08:12
