Rams | Darrell Henderson likes fit with Rams   Los Angeles Rams RB Darrell Henderson, a third-round rookie out of Memphis, recently told the Los Angeles Times that he's feeling right at home with his new team. 'If you go back and watch my college film and you watch the Rams film, it's the same,' Henderson told the Los Angeles Times this week. 'I thought that was the best system I could get in. So everything worked out great. When I was talking to them, everything was clicking and we developed a relationship. The coaches told me they knew they were going to get me so it was the perfect fit.' Footballguys View: Henderson is a big play just waiting to happen. He's fast in a straight line and can eat up chunks of yards quickly. Henderson is not a pile-pusher in the middle, but he's not afraid to run inside. Scouts say his skill set is reminiscent of Tevin Coleman because of his ability to make field-flipping plays. The rookie will serve as a change-of-pace back behind Todd Gurley in 2019.  05/19 13:45
Broncos | Noah Fant likely to split time   Denver Broncos TE Noah Fant is a better receiver than blocker but will likely split time during his first season with veteran Jeff Heuerman in the opinion of a veteran beat reporter. Footballguys View: Heuerman is going to be the primary blocker at the position. Fant is an effort blocker but the Broncos selected him in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft to be a receiving weapon. It's not outlandish to project 50 catches for Fant as a rookie, even splitting time in the Broncos offense. Fant has TE2 appeal with upside for Fantasy GMs.  05/19 13:29
Vikings | Expectations higher for Kirk Cousins   Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins is entering his second season with the team and along with that come higher expectations. 'I think a year under his belt here in Minnesota and his familiarity with everything is going to bode well,' Vikings co-owner Mark Wilf said in the Minneapolis Star Tribune on Sunday, May 19. 'He's doing great. We expect a lot out of him as well as our whole team.' Footballguys View: The Vikings were in the NFC Championship Game with Case Keenum at quarterback two years ago. Last year, with Cousins, they failed to make the postseason. After giving Cousins the first fully-guaranteed contract in the NFL, the Vikings are looking for championships...not staying at home in January. No quarterback is under more pressure to perform in 2019 than Cousins. He's got a current ADP of QB19 (12.04) in 12-team PPR leagues.  05/19 12:35
Broncos | Chris Harris not talking long term   Denver Broncos CB Chris Harris Jr. appears to be negotiating a short-term deal, or even a pay raise, for 2019 with the chance to hit the open market in 2020. Footballguys View: Harris wants to be the highest paid corner in the league when it comes to average annual salary. The Broncos don't seem too excited to pay him over $15MM per year to get to that mark. Harris can still play at a high level, but the Broncos may only give him a raise this year with the opportunity to get a large payday (not likely with Denver) in 2020.  05/19 08:46
Broncos | Brett Rypien has the tools?   Denver Broncos QB Brett Rypien showed great footwork and anticipation on his throws during rookie minicamp, according to Cecil Lammey of 104.3 The Fan, and Lammey believes Rypien is 'ready to run' the Denver offense. Footballguys View: Rypien had many more dropbacks from under center than most college quarterbacks. He had 48 passing attempts when working from under center in 2018. By comparison, fellow Broncos rookie QB Drew Lock only had five such attempts last year. Rypien doesn't have the big arm that Lock does, but he looks comfortable at Broncos rookie minicamp and OTAs so far this offseason. We think he's got the ability to be a solid backup and spot starter for years. Lock has a higher ceiling and could be a franchise quarterback, but he's got more to learn than Rypien does when it comes to running a pro-style offense.  05/18 21:14
Broncos | Quick impact for Noah Fant?   Denver Broncos TE Noah Fant could 'emerge as a difference maker in Year 1' for the offense, in the opinion of Bucky Brooks of NFL.com. Footballguys View: Brooks is not too far off here. Fant, the Broncos 2019 first-round pick, is going to play in a Shanahan/Kubiak offense under new Broncos OC Rich Scangarello. That's one of the more TE-friendly systems in the league. Fant is also going to be catching passes from QB Joe Flacco, and he's known as someone who goes after the TE early and often. Fant is a TE2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2019 if he wins the starting job in training camp. Jeff Heuerman and Jake Butt are his competition for that spot.  05/18 20:44
Cardinals | Larry Fitzgerald set to rebound?   Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald could reach 100 catches because of all the 'quick-rhythm throws' in head coach Kliff Kingsbury's offense, in the opinion of Bucky Brooks of NFL.com. Footballguys View: Fitzgerald has WR2 with upside potential in this new Cardinals offense. They were inept last year in the passing game, and Fitzgerald's numbers suffered because of it. Now, Kingsbury is going to focus on short/rhythm passing and that could mean good production for the veteran. The Cardinals have a great group of young receivers like Christian Kirk, Hakeem Butler and Andy Isabella to open things up all around Fitzgerald.  05/18 20:36
Eagles | Chris Long announces retirement   Philadelphia Eagles DL Chris Long announced his retirement from the NFL Saturday, May 18. Footballguys View: This move was expected by Long at some point this offseason. He finishes his 11-year career as a two-time Super Bowl Champion (Patriots, Eagles) with 70 sacks and 15 forced fumbles in 162 games. Long was a solid player on the field but a spectacular ambassador for the league and a great man off the field.  05/18 20:23
Bills | Duke Williams showing maturity   Buffalo Bills WR Duke Williams has 'developed some self-awareness' about what he needs to do on and off the field to be successful in the NFL, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Footballguys View: Back in January, the Bills wasted no time in adding the CFL's leading receiver. In the 2018 season with the Edmonton Eskimos (18 games), Williams posted 88 receptions for almost 1,600 yards (1,579) and 11 touchdowns. Undrafted out of Auburn in 2016, Williams did get a cup of coffee as a rookie tryout player with the Rams that year. Now, back in the NFL, the 6'3" 225 pound receiver is trying to latch on with the Bills. We'll monitor his progress in deep dynasty formats.  05/18 20:15
Dolphins | Knee issue for Ricardo Louis   Miami Dolphins WR Ricardo Louis (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list with a knee injury, according to a league source. It was initially reported that Louis was dealing with a neck injury. Footballguys View: Louis missed the 2018 season with a neck injury. Now, he's lost for the year due to a knee injury suffered this offseason. Louis is going to have a difficult time continuing his pro career that had some minor flashes early on when he was with the Browns. He's set to be an RFA for the Dolphins following this season.  05/18 20:10
Bills | Matt Milano on track for return   Buffalo Bills LB Matt Milano (leg) has been participating in offseason activities and remains on track to be ready for the start of the 2019 season.  05/18 20:06
Eagles | Philly starts talks with Carson Wentz   Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz has started contract extension talks with the Eagles, but the two sides are not close to an agreement at this point. Footballguys View: There's not a big hurry here. The Eagles have Wentz under contract through the 2020 season with the fifth-year option the 2016 first-round pick had picked up by the team. Wentz needs to stay healthy and that's about it. When healthy, the young quarterback has the upside to be one of the best in the game. If he plays well for a full season in 2019, Wentz's price is only going to go up.  05/18 18:50
Bengals | Rodney Anderson should be ready for camp   Cincinnati Bengals RB Rodney Anderson (knee) said he expects to be completely recovered from his torn anterior cruciate ligament by the time training camp begins. Footballguys View: Anderson tore his ACL two games into the season last year, so he should be close to 100 percent healthy by the time training camp rolls around. He's going to compete with fellow rookie Trayveon Williams for the third-string job behind Joe Mixon and Gio Bernard.  05/18 16:50
Eagles | Jalen Mills may miss workouts   Philadelphia Eagles CB Jalen Mills (foot) may be held out until training camp because he is coming off a foot injury, according to head coach Doug Pederson.  05/18 15:29
NFL | Travis Swanson retires   Free-agent C Travis Swanson (Dolphins) announced his retirement from professional football Saturday, May 18.  05/18 14:21
Cowboys | Jaylon Smith extension talks begin   Dallas Cowboys LB Jaylon Smith has begun talks with the team on a contract extension, according to sources. Footballguys View: A second-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Smith is in the final year of his rookie contract. The Cowboys have a lot of big contract to look at with guys like QB Dak Prescott and WR Amari Cooper coming up. Smith won't get a huge contract and may have to take a team-friendly deal.  05/18 10:46
Jets | NYJ targeting Peyton Manning?   Former QB Peyton Manning is being rumored to be a target for the New York Jets' general manager vacancy. Manning played under head coach Adam Gase with the Denver Broncos and fits the mold the team is seeking. 'It's more than a talent-evaluation guy,' Jets CEO Christopher W. Johnson said. 'I want a great manager, a communicator, who can collaborate well with the building. I'm convinced we're going to find that person.' Footballguys View: Manning is destined to run a team some day. First, perhaps as a general manager. Then, we could see him as a team owner one day. Manning is all about football and has a great relationship with Adam Gase. He's turned down other job offers, both in the media and NFL front offices, so we'll see if the Jets offer is more enticing to the future Hall of Fame quarterback.  05/18 10:03
Ravens | Michael Floyd gets one-year deal   Updating a previous report, the Baltimore Ravens signed WR Michael Floyd (Redskins) to a one-year contract on Friday, May 17. Financial terms were not immediately disclosed. Footballguys View: This is Floyd's fifth team in the last four years. We'll see if he can stay healthy and work his way up the depth chart. The Ravens have continued to revamp their WR corps as they look for quality weapons to put around QB Lamar Jackson.  05/18 01:25
Titans | Hamp Cheevers cut from IR   Tennessee Titans CB Hamp Cheevers (undisclosed) was released from IR with an injury settlement Friday, May 17.  05/18 01:17
Buccaneers | Breshad Perriman building chemistry   Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Breshad Perriman said he is continuing to develop his timing with QB Jameis Winston, and he expects 'big plays all around' in head coach Bruce Arians offense this year. Footballguys View: Perriman got a fresh start with the Browns in 2018 and he was going to stay for the 2019 season on a one-year, $4 million deal. Instead, the Browns traded for Odell Beckham Jr. and Perriman wanted out. We'll see if he can thrive in the downfield passing game Bucs head coach Bruce Arians is known for. Perriman is likely fourth on the depth chart at this time.  05/17 22:36
