i was wondering if anyone would be interested in changing the way the draft picks are dealt.
my idea, and tell me if you think this is stupid:
the 8 teams that don't make the playoffs are given, lets say tickets (or names on a card in a hat). the amount of cards you get depends on the rank you ended the year before. such as last= 8 cards, second to last =7....and so on. if you make the playoffs, then that sets your pick depending on how you do.
but, the key is that we will do a drawing on draft day to see where you will pick. name can only be drawn once, to determine which pick you will get.
just an idea. what do you all think?

What some other leagues do is have a "Toilet Bowl" or some other tournament to decide the draft picks. This forces the non-playoff teams to compete for their draft pick and also keeps everyone interested in the league up to the end of the NFL season.
I also thought about deciding Draft positions based on Total Points instead of head-to-head. Most points (for non-playoff teams) get the #1 pick. But that would punish a truely bad team. Another thought was to have only the Week 15 points scored used to determine Draft Order.
We can discuss this and come to some sort of consensus in the Smack Room, then vote on it during Draft Day.

i like the idea of playing for the first spot, but it should be limited to groups of four.......
top four= playoffs
next four= play for picks 4-8
bottom four= play for picks 1-4
or i still likethe lottery idea, where we wont know our pick until draft day!

if we are to do this, then i propose that we rename the Goalline Division to the Catering Division......
since it will be coming from that division, they should think about splitting it each year so that huntington and the rugrats don't have to pay every time.
