DE Umenyiora out for the season: The Newark Star-Ledger and NFL Network both report that Giants DE Osi Umenyiora will undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee a day after suffering serious ligament damage vs. the Jets, and that he is expected to miss the 2008 season. The paper adds that Umenyiora considered short-term rehab but opted for surgery since that's better for his long-term outlook.
