kickers are outcasts in our fantasy league, but i know a way to make them more valuable!!!

simply count their yardage of the field goal, and multiply it like our offensive yardage...example (48-yard FG = 4.8 points)
i also believe they should get -1 for a missed FG or EP!!!

I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!
WHAT DOES EVERYONE ELSE THINK???
kickers are normally worthless, but this would make them more valuable!
i know some teams have gone thru the entire draft w/o drafting a kicker and this would stop that!!!

After voting "Yes", I decided I would investigate. This proposal only gives a modest increase in fantasy points. Look at the point totals below.

Take Vinatieri's stat line, for example.
FG 31-33; XP 48-48
Points with current formula 31x3 + 48 = 141 (he obviously received some passing and tackling points)

For the proposed formula his sucessful FG lengths were:
32,43,29,28,24,42,40,40,39,30,41,27,43,25,43,31,45,36,27,24,20,45,37,37,28,28,40,48,28,29,26
That's a total of 1055 yards.

So his proposed total would be 1055*0.1 - 2*1 + 48 - 0*1 = 151.5

His average kick was about 34 yards. If given 0.1 point for each yard that's only slightly better than the 3.0 points received now.

i thought we wanted more production from the kickers?
it still makes them more valuable...don't deduct for misses adds a few more points...
