That is my thought..... the close proximity of the other franchises have to not want this... and they will probable rock the boat if they feel threatened.

why would the Flyers trade for them and not sign them???

i guess if the Preds are not gonna sign them that is good, but it still sucks seeing that Leipold will be spending NO money until ownership is resolved and by then the big FAs should be gone.....

maybe we really like someone at #23

I do like the pick and still having the possibility to make a play at one of them later. Thats 3 preds that have gone to philly.

Make a play? They both signed 6 year deals with the Flyers. We would never have signed them anyway; so, it's good that we got a pic.

Heard on the radio yesterday, that the local ownership possibility only has around 25 million.

because it is so easy to borrow money on a losing proposition!?!

think about that Dave...would you as a financial institution loan 200 million dollars on something that has the track record of losing millions? i don't think loaning 80+ percent would be a sound lending practice...
maybe these local investors own large corporations, but who knows at this point.

They are CEOs of large medical corporations, but they need help from others in the community. Then maybe Leopold would want to stay on as a minority owner.

Gaylord fucked him and us in the long run when they pulled out a few years back.
