Am I interpreting the tiebreaking process the way you do? In a three way tie do you think of tiebreakers as an elimination process?
Our division tiebreaker rules as stated involving more than two teams.
1. Division head-to-head Record
2. Combined head-to-head record of games involving disputed teams only
3. Division Points
4. Overall Points
5. Coin Flip
Take the example of the Gridiron Division in League I this year. Three teams finished 7-7. Two of them had 4-2 division records with the third at 2-4. So in breaking the tie, would you think that the team with the 2-4 division record would be eliminated from the process after Step 1 and only the two remaining teams would go to Step 2? Or should all three teams be compared in Step 2? In this example it works out the same either way.
In the NFL's tiebreaking procedure (http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures), they clearly state "If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated during any step, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of the two-club format." So I have been doing this differently than the NFL.
Should we clarify the rule by adopting a more NFL-like policy? Any thoughts about other tiebreaking changes? Would you prefer seeing points given priority in the tiebreaking process? Keep in mind that MFL.com currently does not offer Division Points as a tiebreaker. To prevent future confusion we may need to modify our rules to fit better with the software.

I dont mind the way it is. If you are determining the winner of a division I think the main factors should be stats that pertain to the division your in. I also agree that the Knucks should have been eliminated after step 1 and should not have gone to step 2. So for what my opinion is worth (and I was involved in the whole mess!! lol) I think its fine the way it is.
