forced fumble

Post by thechosenone »

we need to vote to allow points for forcing fumbles for next year...yea , i am crying..my player forces a fumble and guru's picks it up and runs it in for a td..... the guy that picks the fumble up gets the points and none for the one who forces the fumble...doesnt seem right?
it's time to reclaim what is rightfully mine.

I agree. But I would like to decrease the points for fumble recovery so we aren't adding points to the defensive positions.

Just so you know, here are the existing scoring rules that we are using:
Number of Passing TDs
Passing Yards
Pass Interceptions Thrown
Passing 2 Pointers
Number of Rushing TDs
Rushing Yards
Rushing 2 Pointers
Number of Receiving TDs
Receiving Yards
Receiving 2 Pointers
Number of Field Goals Made
Extra Points
Number of Punt Return TDs
Number of Kickoff Return TDs
Fumbles Lost (to Opponent)
Number of Defensive Fumble Recovery TDs
Fumble Recoveries (from Opponent)
Number of Offensive Fumble Recovery TDs
Number of Interception Return TDs
Interceptions Caught
Number of Blocked Field Goal TDs
Number of Blocked Punt TDs
Defensive Assists
Tackles
Sacked a QB
Safeties

I wouldn't mind adding a few more scoring rules. Ya know, just to spice things up.
Here are the scoring rules available in the system that we are not using (with my comments):
Length of Passing TD
Average Yards per Pass
Pass Attempts
Pass Completions
Pass Completion Percentage
Pass Incompletions
Number of Interceptions Thrown Returned for a TD
Length of Interception Thrown Returned for a TD
QB Sacked (Spice up the QB position!)
QB Sacked Yardage
Passer Rating
Long Passing Plays of 20+ Yards
Long Passing Plays of 30+ Yards
Long Passing Plays of 40+ Yards
Long Passing Plays of 50+ Yards
Length of Rushing TD
Average Yards per Rush
Rush Attempts
Long Rushing Plays of 20+ Yards
Long Rushing Plays of 40+ Yards
Length of Receiving TD
Average Yards per Reception
Receptions (This has been asked about before)
Targets
Long Receptions of 20+ Yards
Long Receptions of 40+ Yards
Rushing + Receiving Yards
Passing + Rushing Yards
Total Yards from Scrimmage
Total Yards
Total Touchdowns
Length of Field Goal Made (3 points for <39yds, 4 points for 40-49, 5 points for 50+)
Number of Field Goals Missed
Length of Missed Field Goal (same as above but negative)
Number of Field Goals Attempted
Field Goal Percentage
Field Goals Had Blocked
Extra Points Missed (we should use it)
Extra Points Attempted
Extra Point Percentage
Extra Points Had Blocked
Punts
Punt Yards
Average Yards per Punt (anyone want to start using punters?)
Punts Inside 20
Punts Had Blocked
Length of Punt Return TD
Punt Returns
Punt Return Yards (we should use return yardage)
Average Yards per Punt Return
Long Punt Returns of 40+ Yards
Length of Kickoff Return TD
Kickoff Returns
Kickoff Return Yards (we should use return yardage)
Average Yards per Kickoff Return
Long Kickoff Returns of 40+ Yards
Fumbles (how about penalizing fumbles that are not lost?)
Fumbles on Offense
Fumbles on Special Teams
Fumbles on Defense
Fumbles Lost on Offense
Fumbles Lost on Special Teams
Fumbles Lost on Defense
Length of Defensive Fumble Recovery TD
Opponent Fumble Recovery Yards
Number of Fumbles Lost Returned for a TD
Length of Lost Fumble Returned for a TD
Length of Offensive Fumble Recovery TD
Number of Offensive Fumble Recoveries
Offensive Fumble Recovery Yardage
Forced Fumbles (your suggestion)
Length of Interception Return TD
Interception Return Yards
Passes Defensed (another defensive bonus)
Length of Blocked Field Goal TD
Blocked Field Goals
Number of Missed Field Goal Return TDs
Length of Missed Field Goal Return TD
Length of Blocked Punt TD
Blocked Punts
Blocked Extra Points
Defensive Tackles
Assists
Assists Divided by 2
Sacked a QB Yardage
Tackles for a Loss
Number of Defensive TDs
Length of Defensive TD
Number of Defensive & Special Teams TDs
Length of Defensive/Special Teams TDs
Penalties
Penalty Yards
Point Differential
First Downs
Passing First Downs
Rushing First Downs
Receiving First Downs

(some are team scoring rules)
The rules are fair. The regulations are fair.

Penalizing a team for having a player that fumbles which is then recovered by the fumbling player's team? Points for nothing? Sounds like HFA.
You better get on your knees and pray...Sheffield and Gainesboro are on the way.

Like 1 point for the forced and 3 for the recovery?

Id vote to keep scoring rules the way they are (except for HFA). We have all built our teams according to the current rules. Changing them now could make a big difference in the teams.
