Re: 2012 Playoffs
Does anyone else find the seeding a little peculiar? No knock on the Rockers, but it seems strange that a 7-7 third in division team is in the playoffs while two 8-6 second in division teams are out. Selecting the wild card based on total points seems to totally negate the head-to-head records and division rankings. On the other hand, I'm #1 because I beat the Punishers one week even though he has more total points. Why the inconsistency?
Why not rank based on record then total points tiebreakers for all ranks 1-12 with the only exception being division leaders are always 1-3? That would give:
#1 Punishers
#2 Beatnicks
#3 Salamanders
#4 Cherry Bombs
That would also switch the Yankees and Oompa Loompas in draft order.
Alternatively, I would suggest ranking based on record then power rank tiebreakers. After all, the whole point of power rank is to determine the strength of teams and we're not using it at all. Incidentally, that would give the same rankings as described above although that might not always happen.

Re: 2012 Playoffs
Why punish me for being in the division with 3 of the top 6 scoring teams. Give me an extra game against Jeff or Jonathan and one less against Eric or Anthony and I would probably have a record more commiserate with my point total. I did have the second most total points, beating out the two other division winners and the person who finished ahead of me in my division. Not to mention I beat Cherry Bombs head to head in Wk 11.

Re: 2012 Playoffs
The rule for the Wildcard to be the team with the most points that did not lead their division was made a long time ago. It was to rewards a high scoring team that might have not had a break or two on certain weeks. Not saying that the rule cant be changed but it is a nice feature of this league that gives a lot of teams a chance to make the playoffs up to the last week no matter what position they are in. And generally the top scoring Wild Card team is generally deserving to get in...

Re: 2012 Playoffs
I like the way our wild card system works. Maybe Im just a simpleton, but its pretty cut and dry who is in and who is out when looking at the home page. But Will is right, everything is always open for a vote. Im pretty positive that there wouldnt be enough support to change anything. This league is the best for some of the differences that seperate ourselves from all the others.

Re: 2012 Playoffs
What happened to Bryce Brown's Fumble. None of the final stat sheets have it yet it was in the stats during the game and every article about the game refers to it:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/gametracke ... ppy-eagles
From the article:
"Then Wallace Gilberry picked up Bryce Brown's fumble and ran it back 25 yards for another score and an 11-point lead."
Odd.

Re: 2012 Playoffs
The fumble was credited to Foles.
