QB Steve McNair spent a second night at Baptist Hospital last night. HC Jeff Fisher cast serious doubt on McNair's chances of playing Sunday at San Diego and said his status for the next several games is unclear. Dr. James Bethea, an orthopedic surgeon said, ''If he is in the hospital for a second night, it sounds like it could be a three-week injury and that is being optimistic.''

Wide receiver Drew Bennett confirmed Thursday that he has been playing this season with broken ribs, both on his left side. The first was suffered in an August 21 preseason game against Buffalo; the second occurred September 19 against the Colts. "I can still feel it," Bennett told the Tennessean. "My rib cage is tight, and I got a pretty solid shot [to the ribs] on Monday night. But it's a lot better than it was."
