WR S. Smith Injured In Practice

Panthers All-Pro receiver Steve Smith was carted off the practice field Saturday with what appeared to be a hamstring injury. He went went down late in the second of the team's two practices. He quickly was put on a cart and taken inside for examination. The extent of the injury is not yet known.

“I think WR Steve Smith probably strained his hamstring,” GM Marty Hurney said following Smith’s strained hamstring injury Saturday afternoon. “He’s done this before. I think he’ll be OK.” Smith’s injury should raise some concerns for the Panthers considering he missed the final week of the June minicamp because of a hamstring problem.
