3-4 defenses
Hey Commish is there anything we can do about position corrections?
T suggs is a LB, and the owner got to play him at DE. I am not faulting him because the system allowed him to do this.
Now, the 3-4 is the growing trend in the NFL and several DEs were moved to LB this year and I highly doubt the system will catch this either.
We really need to correct this in some way even if we have to do a manual adjustments.
Can I get your thoughts, ideas, or remedies on the growing issue?

Re: 3-4 defenses
That's certainly possible.
I have the option to change any player's position. Make a list of any players that need to be moved. I think it is best that we do this before the season starts. I don't think it would be right to change positions during the season after he has already started at another position.

Re: 3-4 defenses
How is it that Suggs is a LB, but he is franchise tagged as a DE? Because he plays more snaps at DE than LB
Commish, I thought you made the determination to go with MFL's positions a LONG time ago? I don't care either way, but we shouldn't be flip flopping. It is gonna be very confusing when every other league you are in has those players listed by the MFL designation. Most fantasy rankings are based on MFL's designations as well.

Re: 3-4 defenses
Yes, the position on the website is the final word. But we can change the positions if we feel that they are slow in changing a player's position based on recent news.
How does MFL deal with official player position changes?
Answer: We use Rotoworld.com as our official source for player positions. Any changes that Rotoworld.com makes to our player positions will be displayed in your Player Position Changes site news located under the Help > What's New Link.
And if we ever make a position change you don't agree with, commissioners can always override the default player position via the Change Player Position page.
The rules are fair. The regulations are fair.

I'm okay with that MFL lists the positions as. There will be 2-3 that slip through the cracks, but for the most part it's pretty accurate based on what the teams are planning on doing with the player in training camp.

Wow, you even know how he was franchised thats really great. I was unable to get fantastic information how he was franchised, because I just went to the team website and looked at the depth chart. I am very surprised a guy that is known for his outstanding researching ability didnt do that as well, but I am sure you were going to get to it after you read his biography.
Anyways, Suggs, Kampman, Dumervil and R. Ayers are listed as LBs on the their teams depth charts and thier are probably a few others, but those listed would probably impact the league the most.

Re: 3-4 defenses
Wouldn't you rather keep them as DL so you can play 3 linebackers?

Re: 3-4 defenses
I would think that is what his point is. Not all LBs in the 3-4 are studs except for the ones he mentioned and a few more. Playing them at DL is like playing an extra LB which is an advantage that not everyone will have the opportunity to take advantage of.wolfe wrote:Wouldn't you rather keep them as DL so you can play 3 linebackers?

if you think someone is going to get the advantage over you, then YOU should just pick that player before anyone else does. this isn't a new controversy...the Man, the Myth... wrote:I would think that is what his point is. Re: 3-4 defenses
I understand that I could take the player first....I dont plan my draft around what other people are going to do. Listen, I understand The Guru's point is all I was saying. Whatever changes you do or dont make wont affect me one way or the other. But we do always tout ourselves as trying to be as close to the "real" NFL as possible. So shouldnt that include everything? Like I said....I just understand what he was saying. Why does every point or opinion that someone has, have to be a full blown debate?? The question was originally directed to the Commish and now there are 5 people involved instead of 2. The Commish would put it to a vote if he needed our help!! (and yes...you dont have to point out that I am one of the guilty parties here....I understand that)Agitator wrote:if you think someone is going to get the advantage over you, then YOU should just pick that player before anyone else does. this isn't a new controversy...the Man, the Myth... wrote:I would think that is what his point is.
